Re: [Solved] Dhclient.conf

I believe -Ss shows what is synced, not what is installed:

  -s, --search <regexp>

This will search each package in the sync databases for names or descriptions that match regexp. When you include multiple search terms, only packages with descriptions matching ALL of those terms will be returned.

Are you sure it is installed. One way would be to use the find command.  Here is a simple search

 sudo find / -name "dhclient.conf"

man find for more information and how to refine the search.

Re: [Solved] Dhclient.conf

when i run find command it returned nothing. Is there a possibility that there is no dhclient.conf file in my system?

Re: [Solved] Dhclient.conf

I would need to know more about what you want to do.  From your other post, I would start with

 man resolveconf

to see if that helps you, but you can create one yourself.  There are examples on the Web. I do not use one myself, and anyway without specific knowledge of your needs and desires, any examples I give would be meaningless.

Re: [Solved] Dhclient.conf

I want to change the dns server in the dhcp.conf file. or more specific prepend domain name servers, i want to add some new servers there. When i type dhclient then RTNETLINK says file exists

Re: [Solved] Dhclient.conf

There is a dhclient package in Extra, install that if you like, or search for:

 man dhclient
 man dhclient.conf

and create /etc/dhclient.conf if it is not there.  Someone else might have other ideas, but keep in mind man pages are your friend.  Everything you need is there.
