I'm trying to set up bluetooth on my new thinkpad t420. I've installed `bluez` and `bluez-utils`, and set it as a systemd service.
`sudo systemctl status bluetooth.service` says that it is running, but different front ends like the gnome-control-panel, and cinnamon's `blueberry` don't work at all, saying that a bluetooth device is not connected.
Am I doing this right or am I making some mistake?

Try bluetoothctl from bluez-utils or blueman-manager. Maybe you also need do "modeprobe btusb" before you start with bluetooth. To check if it's loaded do
lsmod | grep btusbLast edited by xerxes_ (2019-08-23 10:13:50)

So, as I wrote in post #2 load Bluetooth kernel module by command:
sudo modeprobe btusband then try (from terminal) bluetoothctl from bluez-utils package:
sudo bluetoothctland in interactive mode this commands one by one:
(interactive): (press hardware button bluetooth),help,show,list,devices,power on,scan on,agent on,pair MAC_adr,connect MAC_adr,info MAC_adr,disconnect MAC_adr,agent off,scan off,power off,(press hw_button),exitOr instead bluetoothctl you may try GUI aplication blueman-manager from blueman package.
