I've been trying to connect to my university's wifi network using netctl with pretty much every variation of eduroam config file that I could find on the internet, the most recent of which was the following:
Description='school wifi'
Connection=wireless
Interface=wlp2s0
Security=wpa-configsection
IP=dhcp
ESSID=school_wifi
WPAConfigSection=(
'ssid="school_wifi"'
'proto=RSN'
'key_mgmt=WPA_EAP'
'eap=PEAP'
'group=CCMP'
'identity="school_id"'
'password="school_password"'
'phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2 password=school_password"'
'ca_cert="/etc/ssl/certs/DigiCert_Global_Root_CA.pem"'
)and my school's setup information says the following:
SSID: school_wifi or eduroam (I tried both)
Network Type: Infrastructure
Security: WPA2-Enterprise (not WPA2-PSK)
Encryption: AES
Authentication Type: EAP-TTLS
Authentication Protocol: PAP
Certificate Authority: DigiCert Global Root CA certificate
Authentication Server: server_url.edu
It also contains the note that "Your system may also require you to download the intermediate and server certificates," and has links to download the two certificates, neither of which I have downloaded, as I'm not sure what to do with them.
whenever I run 'sudo netctl start schoolWireless' there is a delay of about 30 seconds before the message
Job for netctl@schoolWireless.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status netctl@schoolWireless.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.the output of 'systemctl status netctl@schoolWireless.service' is:
