Nvidia settings help

I have a weird problem. Every time that I move a file or a folder to the trash, my Nvidia color correction settings reset. I'm using a .desktop file to keep my settings from resetting on reboot but I'm not sure if that's the right way to do it. I've been trying to fix my Nvidia-Settings from resetting for days now. I appreciate the help.

Re: Nvidia settings help

Are you using a DM? Could you post your .desktop file?

Re: Nvidia settings help

This has nothing to do w/ nvidia-settings. However you "move a file or a folder to the trash", something™ resets the gamma ramps. You should get the same effect if you use xcalib, xgamma or redshift (though the last might at some point re-reset things depending on whether you run it as a daemon and whether it's currently transitioning between two colors)

=> Figure why something™ is doing this and make it stop. Or use somethingelse™ which doesn't do random stuff and just trashbins data.

You'll have to set the gamma ramps after every X11 restart, whether you do that w/ an autostarting service (as you apparently do) or an explicit call in the stratup scripts or by throwing butterflies into the air doesn't matter.
