Hello,
I used yay -S ttf-ms-win10 to grab the PKG, but the installation failed, because of some ms fonts where missing. I read the PKG made the edit it suggested (edit out with a comment the fonts your windows installation doesn't come with then build it with makepkg --skipchecksum). failed again because of not having license.rtf in the folder. Added that in too. After doing sudo fc-cache -f and restarting it called most fonts to fail (Displays are the empty square)( also caused Firefox to crash too if that helps). Iv tried doing fc-cache -r -f to rebuild the cache no luck.

I think you didn't install the package correctly.
Where do you get the Windows10 fonts from ? Why do you miss some fonts ? Why do you use --skipchecksum ?
How do you test the fonts ?

Hello,
I got them from my windows installation on my other hard driver aka /mnt/Windows/fonts (windows partition mounted under /mnt) and copy them to the PKGBUILD dir so it could build it. As the aur FAQ says (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-ms-win10/) you should comment out the fonts that your Windows version is missing and build it with makepkg --skipchecksums. Both in my lightdm and about half the fronts in my Xfcve environment are missing(being replaced with the Unicode squares, also guessing the missing fonts is causing firefox to crash). It still seems to be listing at least almost every font using fclist
FAQ, please read before posting:
I get an error that the sources cannot be downloaded: Please read the instructions on the top of the PKGBUILD.
Some fonts are missing in my copy of Windows (e.g., holomdl2, corbel, chandra, ...): It seems that Microsoft distributes some fonts only with some Windows versions. You can just comment out the corresponding line in the PKGBUILD and then build with "makepkg --skipchecksums".
Some fonts have different checksums: We keep the checksums synchronized with our own Windows installations that are regularly updated. Different Windows versions, different ISOs etc. may contain fonts in different versions/variants. Just build the package using "makepkg --skipchecksums".

Ok I didn't see the FAQ comment of the package; so it seems the package is installed corrrectly for the fonts you've got from your Windows installation.
I do not use lightdm, xfce or firefox, but look at how they are configured for the fonts.
Verify also the fonts with a font viewer (gnome-font-viewer or kfontview or something else).
Could you post a link to a screenshot of xfce or lightdm with the problem.
