glxgears or glxinfo

What do I have to install to get glxgears or glxinfo?  In fact if I try loading the glx module in my xorg.conf it fails.

glxgears and glxinfo are in mesa-apps

For this one we need some more info, like xorg.conf and the error (/var/log/Xorg.0.log)...

Well, whatever was missing is now there.  I installed mesa-apps and that installed freeglut.  One of them solved the problem because glx is now loading.
