I keep getting the following error when trying to install or update:
$ sudo pacman -Syu
[sudo] password for zendoer:

error: could not open file /var/lib/pacman/local/sudo-1.8.27-1/desc: No such file or directory
looking for conflicting packages..This also happens when installing or using yay for AUR packages.
Primarily I want to make sure this isn't some critical error or vulnerability, particularly because it involves sudo. But it'd also be nice to fix it so that this doesn't display all the time.

That's just your pacman cache, potentially from an interrupted update. Touch the file or remove the directory in question and run another update.

Your pacman database has gotten damaged somehow (possible causes: accidental deletion, filesystem-level corruption, hardware fault). Rule out the latter two before proceeding (check your drive(s) with smartctl and if that looks good run a fsck/check on the filesystem). Once you're happy that your hardware and filesystem are stable, remove the faulty database entry
# rm -r /var/lib/pacman/local/sudo-1.8.27-1then recreate it with
# pacman -U --dbonly /var/cache/pacman/pkg/sudo-1.8.27-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xzThen check for any other problems with
# pacman -Qkk >/dev/nullFinally complete that system upgrade you started.

Thanks for the reply. I did have a drive corruption issue earlier this week due to my computer being unplugged while going into hibernation. I had run fsck to fix the disk, but that is most likely the culprint. I just deleted and recreated the sudo package, and when I check for other problems I get a list of wwarnings:

You should probably reinstall libelf and libseccomp, and might want to fix the permission mismatches, the rest can be normal.
