Hello,
I was trying to figure out which or even if there is a default "shell greeter" for outputs like the ones from sudo.
It would be nice if there was an option to change the terminal color when prompted for: <b>[sudo] password for <user>: </b>
I'm just using a simple openbox setup without any display-mangers.
Ideas would be much appreciated.

See
man sudoers | less -p " passprompt "
For setting the sudo prompt. Not sure if it can support colours, but you can experiment with it to see what works.

Colors work fine in the SUDO_PROMPT environment variable.
