PS3 gamepad mapping

Hello everyone

I am having issues using my PS3 controller I paired via bluetooth. All buttons are mapped correctly except the up and down positions on the right analog stick. I had first discovered this using the button configuration plugin in PCSX2, then installed xf86-input-joystick and it reproduced the same problem.
I went on to install js-test where I was able to correct the problem in the mapping window by changing the mapping order. At this point the controller acts properly in js-test, but fails to work throughout the rest of the system.
I have installed joyutils and tried to use the jscal-store command in order to lock the new mapping configuration but I cannot get through successfully :

sudo jscal-store /dev/input/js0

(with the name of the device given by js-test)
returns

/usr/bin/jscal-store: ligne 21: /usr/local/share/joystick/ident: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
No product name or vendor available, calibration will be stored for the
given device name () only!
/usr/bin/jscal-store: ligne 40: /usr/local/share/joystick/filter: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

Now I'm blocked

A few months back I had used this gamepad without any issues, so it seems there's a new bug in the default mapping.

Any help will be appreciated

kernel : 5.2.8-arch1-1-ARCH
DE : xfce 4.14

Re: PS3 gamepad mapping

Is there any chance the mapping problem could come from bluez-plugins (PS3 Sixaxis controller) ? Namely usr/lib/bluetooth/plugins/sixaxis.so ?

Re: PS3 gamepad mapping

I tried with an LTS linux version, but that didn't change anything. I also learned that there are two device input systems : evdev and joydev. The mapping error I experience is reproduced when I fire up testing modules for each of the systems (js-test for jovdev and sdl2-jstest for evdev), so maybe the problem comes from elsewhere.

Can mapping errors come from bluetooth modules ? The one I use for the controller is bluez-plugins 5.50.6 (extra).

Please don't do that.
