I'm working on setting up full disk encryption with Luks & ZFS, unlocked with my Yubikey.
It works! I'm very chuffed. However, when I boot I get the following error messages:
Starting version 242.84-2-arch
The ZFS modules are not loaded.
Try running '/sbin/modprobe zfs' as root to load them.
The ZFS modules are not loaded.
Try running '/sbin/modprobe zfs' as root to load them. That error is repeated 16 times (presumably until some retries limit or timeout is reached), and then I'm asked for my passphrase and yubikey challenge.
I can then unlock the system and log in successfully. The zfs pool is mounted correctly.
Have I got some hook or module in the wrong order in my ramfs?
Here are my hooks in [inline]/etc/mkinitcpio.conf[/inline]
HOOKS=(base udev autodetect modconf block keymap zfs filesystems fsck keyboard ykfde)Ykfde is the yubikey full disk encryption.
Here's the [inline]GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX[/inline] var in my [inline]/etc/default/grub[/inline]
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="cryptdevice=UUID=[UUID-OF-CRYPTO-VOLUME-CONTAINING-ZFS]:cryptzfs"I've got a workable system, but it'd be nice if I could get rid of these errors; they slow down an already sluggish boot.
Please let me know if I can provide other configs.
Thanks for your help

Have you tried building the module into the initramfs?

Thanks for looking jasonwryan
Adding `zfs` to modules changes the output to this:
no pools available to import
no pools available to import
no pools available to import
...Which... is better, I guess? But still need to wait for the timeout before I can log in.
I'm not able to add ykfde - that throws an error (ERROR: Module not found `ykfde')
