[SOLVED] urxvt+awesome glitch

I am running urxvt on awesome, awesome is in floating mode and the urxvt terminal is not maximized..

when I type a long enough command , the command does not reach the right edge of the terminal and instead it goes back to the beginning of the same line...here is a photo:

anyway to fix this ?

I just tested, when I go back to the default PS1 variable in .bashrc, the problem goes away...is there a fix ?

Your prompt is broken. Generally, the error is not getting the escapes correct.

Is there a question about urxvt not being maximized in floating mode? Do you think it is supposed to be? If not, that doesn't seem relevant to your actual question and you should revise your title to note what you are actually asking which is answered above.
