Can't install gimp and mypaint simultaneously

Hi,

As per the topic, I can't install gimp and mypaint simultaneously. When I try to install gimp first:

pareto% sudo pacman -S mypaint
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
:: mypaint and libmypaint are in conflict. Remove libmypaint? [y/N] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: removing libmypaint breaks dependency 'libmypaint' required by gimp
:: removing libmypaint breaks dependency 'libmypaint<2' required by mypaint-brushes1

And when I try to install mypaint first:

pareto% sudo pacman -S gimp
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
:: libmypaint and mypaint are in conflict. Remove mypaint? [y/N] y

Packages (4) libmypaint-1.3.0-6  mypaint-1.2.1-9 [removal]  mypaint-brushes1-1.3.0-1  gimp-2.10.12-2

Total Installed Size:  107.67 MiB
Net Upgrade Size:       69.02 MiB

:: Proceed with installation? [Y/n]

They worked fine just a week or two ago. Is this a bug in the repo?

Looks like the problem is between libmypaint and mypaint and won't be solved soon.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: Can't install gimp and mypaint simultaneously

I wonder what is the stand on this issue from the devs of both packages... or if this is an arch specific issue

maybe they could come with a way to deal with it

or why not just add a prefix to one package meanwhile?

Well, I suppose that this is somekind of signature, no?

I was also thinking about it.

Anyway, you can run MyPaint Appimage or Flatpak as a workaround.

Just install mypaint from pacman and Gimp from snap. It works for me.
