Windows Dual Boot screwed my second hard drive

So I installed windows on my second hard drive (I used the back half of the drive cause I wanted to save my data but looks like that wasn't a good idea) and now I cant mount the first half of the hard drive due to the error
wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.

The fs on the first half is ext4, deleted and reformatted cause I thought that would fix it, spoiler, it didn't

output of fsck.ext4 /dev/sda1 is

[stormfather@roshar ~]$ sudo fsck.ext4 /dev/sda1
e2fsck 1.45.3 (14-Jul-2019)
The filesystem size (according to the superblock) is 244190385 blocks
The physical size of the device is 122095056 blocks
Either the superblock or the partition table is likely to be corrupt!
Abort<y>?

according to fdisk the partition table is as follows

Device Start End Sectors Size Type
/dev/sda1 2048 976762500 976760453 465.8G Linux filesystem
/dev/sda2 976762880 976795647 32768 16M Microsoft reserved
/dev/sda3 976795648 1953521663 976726016 465.8G Microsoft basic data

I need this back as this partition is almost double my storage on the SSD arch is installed on (256g for arch 460ish g left on the HHD that windows takes up half of)

Re: Windows Dual Boot screwed my second hard drive

Please post full output of

# fdisk -l /dev/sda

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Windows Dual Boot screwed my second hard drive

The gap between the end of the linux partition and start of MS reserved seems weird with 380 sectors or 190k , no idea where that comes from.

I suggest you remove the linux partition completely, then boot into windows .
Verify windows can handle the drive correctly, then reboot and recreate the linux partition .
Don't give fdisk / parted a size, let them use all available free space for the partition.
Then you can try formatting to ext4 again.

Re: Windows Dual Boot screwed my second hard drive

Tried this and it didn't work, deleted the partition, reformatted it off of linux fs to something else than back to linux fs and It's giving the same error

Command (m for help): p
