[SOLVED] Crash => Very Hard Reboot

Helo dear users,

I have a laptop Asus ROG for two years now, and three times I had a very hard restart.
I mean, I was using the laptop normaly (no high workload), and sudenly, the screen got black and restarted,
withtout clean systemd restart.

Unfortunately I think it's a hardware bug: https://forum.level1techs.com/t/calling … ate/118102

I can't tell if the microcode version is current, but it should be. Maybe double check or just install amd-microcode for good measure.

I was seeing this on Ryzen 1800X/Asus ROG B350-F for a while, but the latest (in testing) kernels seem to have fixed it here.

Although, I also updated to latest BIOS, so that may have helped, too.


Ryzen 5900X 12 core/24 thread - RTX 3090 FE 24 Gb, Asus Prime B450 Plus, 32Gb Corsair DDR4, Cooler Master N300 chassis, 5 HD (1 NvME PCI, 4SSD) + 1 x optical.
