Do you use a dual monitor setup?
If so, do the lags go away with the JS error with the second output?
@seth I have a similar issue which goes away when I use an external monitor, what's the significance? Thanks.

Probably nothing, the idea was that there might be a bug in the workspaces code of gnome when dealing w/ two outputs (so reducing them to one would avoid the error) - but that's gone w/ the claim in post #15.
I'm not even sure whether you're facing a related issue, but if you've issues w/ a single internal output but not w/ a single external output, my guess would be that this is an optimus system and you're implicitly switching GPUs w/ the output (since the internal is typically wired to the intel chip and the external often to the nvidia one)

Thanks. My issue was solved by removing the Intel Xorg driver and relying on the modesetting driver.
