Uninstall Package Group Without Touching The Packages?

Hi there. Is it possible to uninstall a package group without touching the other packages installed by that group? I ask because I realized that installing the gnome package group means that even if I remove individual packages that I no longer need, on a system update, it will install those removed packages again because they are part of the group. I'd like to simply uninstall that group so that it no longer happens.

Thanks!

No.  The packages you removed won't get reinstalled...

This is pretty much precisely the difference between groups and meta packages that this will not happen: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Me … kage_group
