Which graphical login manager for a rootless Xorg?

Hi to all,
I am using on my system KDE with SDDM as login manager, but it starts X as root.
Is there any other graphical display/login manager which I can use instaed of SDDM to run X as normal user?

The wiki says that GDM should work...

Thank you. I read that but I hoped I could use something different so that to not have all these gnome dependencies on my kde system.
Maybe is better to disable the display manager and execute the login in the console.
