'base' group replaced: how to upgrade the system?

Thanks for the efforts to keep Arch great!

So how should I upgrade my system with 'base' group replaced? Would `pacman -Syu base` be sufficient for that or I need to do some additional steps on my installation? At this topic (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=249773) there are some packages listed to be removed. My installation is at laptop for personal use.

In particular, at Wiki (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … l_packages) it is said that packages for accessing doc should be installed. Should I clean somehow my installed packages related to `base` group and reinstall them?

The news post about `base` group replaced at https://www.archlinux.org/news/base-gro … -required/

Just "pacman -Syu base" is enough.   No need to remove other packages unless you particularly want to (and know you don't need them...)

No.  You'd end up right where you started.  All members of the former base group were explicitly installed when you initially installed your system.  Pacman - nor anything else on your system - has any 'memory' that those packages were installed as part of a group.
