virt-manager fails to start previously fine VM

I'm trying to start my old and trusty VM through virt-manager, and I'm getting

Setting different DAC user or group on /path... which is already in use

I have tried to use the Arch Package Archive to downgrade to a previous version of virt-manager/libvirt, but I can't seem to find a virt-manager linked against libvirt-5.5.

I'm currently trying to build libvirt 5.8 and see if that resolved the issue.

I found at least someone on this globe running into the exact same issue:
https://www.mail-archive.com/libvirt-us … 11490.html

But no one has responded with anything useful there.

Does anyone here know what's going on?
The exact same VM on this machine used to work just fine.

Thanks!

Re: virt-manager fails to start previously fine VM

Hmm it seems that libvirt 5.8 seems to work.

The Arch package is still at 5.6 and has been flagged out of date.

I guess there is nothing else I can do except keep my updated out-of-repo package.

Re: virt-manager fails to start previously fine VM

I suspect this as to do with the "remember_owner" feature that was added to libvirt. I thought there had been a topic about that on the forums already but I can't seem to find it anymore.

You can try setting it to 0 in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf and see if that changes anything.

EDIT: I did find the bug report that mentioned this thing, but not the topic I thought existed on the forums here https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1742877#c2
