Hi,
My desktop system runs KDE (plasma-desktop) and the themes used to look good and coherent, although with the release of Plasma 5.17 and its packages came a rather ugly look for the programs that use GTK2 / GTK3 (for example GIMP and Firefox). I haven't changed any settings after upgrading to breeze 5.17.0-1 and the settings are all still on default / "Breeze". Elements show up as dark with dark text on them and both lighter and darker shades are mixed in a strange fashion.

Why has this changed? Is anyone else having this issue? Should I report it somewhere? Surely this design can't be intentional, especially considering everything is set to default.

Improving the look-and-feel of Plasma 5.17 across the board was one of our priorities, and we've made a number of changes to achieve this. For instance, we have made the Breeze GTK theme respect your selected color scheme. Active and inactive tabs in Google Chrome and Chromium now have a visually distinct look, and window borders are turned off by default. We have also given sidebars in settings windows a consistent, modernized appearance.

That said I can't reproduce (not on my computer right now, but at least pavucontrol definitely looked normal), I suggest you double check your color scheme configuration.

It seems like it's a known issue (I got such a reply when posting this bug upstream). Thank you for your replies and suggestions; I'll make sure to read through the code of conduct. Marking this as solved, for the time being.

@Captain Rage I am also facing the same issue on my machine. I guess we will need to wait for an update.
Thanks for reporting though ;-).

Would you happen to have a link to the report?

Not entirely sure why this issue is marked as solved? It's still present.
