5.1 surround sound not working (only 2.0)

I have logitech z906 connected to the onboard audio with the typical set up: FL, FR, Center, RR, RL and subwoofer. However when I play any audio only the front left speaker plays correctly. the front right speaker sound plays in the center speaker and all the remaining speakers, including the subwoofer are silent.

Any pointers are appreciated. here are some logs:

aplay -L
amixer -c0
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks

? FWIW that card has only very recently received any support at all so this might actually be a driver limitation.

Re: 5.1 surround sound not working (only 2.0)

Hi V1del,

Thanks. I am actually not using the creative sound card here; it's the new AE-7 model and it's not supported at all. I am using the onboard integrated audio. BTW, through countless hours of configuration I manged to get 5 speakers and the subwoofer to actually work now. The right front speaker is still completely silent and speaker test plays sound in the center speaker when indicating sound should be coming from the front right speaker.

Re: 5.1 surround sound not working (only 2.0)

Hi guys,

just checking if anyone has got the logitech z906 to work with 6 channels. I am still only getting 2.0 audio.

Re: 5.1 surround sound not working (only 2.0)

Hi Bednar,

Did you solve your problem? I am having same issues with my own Z906 and couldn't find a workaround yet. Anyways I believe my problem is caused by the pipewire.
By the way, have you checked with alsamixer, maybe your channels are muted? Also make sure you have this setup .
