[solved] Latest update broke KDE window rules

Dear fellow users,

the latest update seems to have broken something in KDE. I had previously applied some window rules for several applications concerning window transparency and blur.
After I applied today's update these do not work anymore, rendering my setup somewhat ugly. Rebooting, reinstallation of applications and downgrading again did not help. I have also noticed the same behavior when I'm running games but normal window rules are applied again when I close any games.

So I think this may have to do with the window compositor or maybe Xorg but I don't know what to do now. I would be helpful for any clues what to do next and if any additional info is required I'd be happy to provide it.

Compositing

It seems the issue is that compositing is not active. I have tried to restart it in the system settings but it crashes with the error:

I just retried this like 5 times and suddenly it worked. I'm not really sure why but maybe it had to do with OpenGL. Anyway thanks for the help in pinning it down!
