I have nVidia340xx and nVidia-340xx-lts installed on a system with mainline and LTS kernels.
When updating current nVidia-340-lts driver I get the following failure at install time
( build completes with no fatal errors );
nVidia-340-lts: /usr/lib/modprobe.d/nVidia-340xx-ck.conf already exists in filesystem
The file just contains a blacklist for nouevau.
Any ideas how to get around this?

https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … 2cc15af9f2 and
https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … 09f78ab923
the none dkms package in the PKGBUILDs
use "${pkgdir}/usr/lib/modprobe.d/nvidia-340xx-ck.conf" instead of "${pkgdir}/usr/lib/modprobe.d/${pkgname}.conf"
ask graysky to fix the PKGBUILDs.
Edit:
As a note 340xx support is scheduled to end at the end of the 2019 and nvidia has yet to update the driver for linux 5.0 so you might want to investigate nouveau.

Thanx. I'm wondering if nVidia is talking the same linux 5.0 kernel we are.
I'm running 5.3.6 right now with nVidia-340xx ( AUR ) ... seems good to me...

The PKGBUILD applies patches for 4.11, 5.0, 5.1 and 5.3 see https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/ … idia-340xx
Putting together a patch for 5.4 should be doable but the Xorg major updates tend to be much more difficult.

Sorry about that... fixed I believe. Please try and let me know.

Well, I simply renamed the "offending" file, rebuilt nVidia-340xx-lts and
back in business.
I then did a pacman -Syu and rebuilt both nvidia drivers
( you need to do this every time kernels update ) and the problem
did not resurface(???)!
Go figure...
LOL... I know now why... LOL Thanx GraySky
