Migrating an existing installation.

Hypothetically speaking, what is the best strategy for moving an Arch Linux installation from a 1TB hdd to a 512GB ssd? Create new partitions, rsync old to new, fix fstab etc..., and then install bootloader?
Has anyone done this in the past?

Re: Migrating an existing installation.

Not sure if it's the 'best strategy' but I have used rsync for this several times. It can be done from a running system, but it is easier from a live USB. Make sure you get the rsync flags right to preserve permissions and follow the remaining steps in the link Jason gave you above.
