[SOLVED] What is %BACKUP% section of files in pacman local database?

Sorry for the newbie question, but I could not find relevant information with a web search.

I've noticed that some (but not all) of the "/var/lib/pacman/local/package/files" contain a section called %BACKUP% which contains lines consisting of a file name followed by what appears to be a hash. What is the purpose of this information? And where I can find more information about the local pacman database?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD#backup

In general read that article to find out more about all the attributes that must and could exist for packages.

Thank you V1del. I did not know and could not find anywhere that the %BACKUP% section mentioned above is related to PKGBUILD backup.
