[Solved] Can't run GMod server -- "libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4" missing

./srcds_linux: error while loading shared libraries: libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

i installed the gmod dedicated server using steamcmd (installed with yay).

can't find much of a general answer to this, hopefully this thread can help me and people on google.

i found some things having to do with graphics drivers, so i'm gonna also add that i don't have xserver installed, the machine is a headless server.

You can search for which package contains a certain file using pacman.

[root@ksserv GarrysModDS]# pacman -F libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4
extra/gperftools 2.7-1 [installed]
    usr/lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4
[root@ksserv GarrysModDS]# ./start_server
./srcds_linux: error while loading shared libraries: libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

huh?! exclamation of confusion?!

Is this a 32-bit application? If so have you enabled the [multilib] repo and updated?

Re: [Solved] Can't run GMod server -- "libtcmalloc_minimal.so.4" missing

how do i enable a repo?
edit: forgot to add-- i don't know if it's a 32-bit binary. i don't know of any way to check that.
edit 2: it is 32 bit.

[root@ksserv GarrysModDS]# file ./srcds_linux
./srcds_linux: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib/ld-linux.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=a3721805fc68c4f5c92b176ef7a919407f4c1f4d, not stripped
