Does anyone build with icecc rather than distcc

I recently found that distcc stopped working to compile the linux kernel and have been looking around for alternatives.  It seems icecream (icecc) is such an alternative.  I'm wondering if anyone else has experience using it and if you do and find it useful, have you tried modifying makepkg (and helper scripts) to use it?
