Hi there !
I've an azerty keyboard, and I try to change the default keyboard layout. But I've tried some tricks but nothing is working.
localectl --no-convert set-x11-keymap fr pc104I've this one as .xinitrc :
[ -f /etc/xprofile ] && . /etc/xprofile
[ -f ~/.xprofile ] && . ~/.xprofile
export XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11
export GDK_BACKEND=x11
setxkbmap fr
exec gnome-sessionand this on as .xprofile :
setxkbmap frBut all these i've failed : always qwerty layout is enabled, and I must change manually.
Does anyone have an idea ?

If you're running Gnome have you tried using its own keyboard settings?

You're not being stupid. In any sensible DE the X settings are adhered to - it's only Gnome and KDE that for some reason insist on overriding X with their own settings.
