My computer was working perfectly fine. Last system update was on Friday. I just did another system update, and the computer would not boot to the X. Pressing ctrl alt 2-3 I would go into a console, and there I could see that it said that it couldn't find a screen. I re-installed the kernel, xorg, and nvidia, booted again, and now it went to the X (I use gnome), but it seems it is not using the GPU, because if I type "nvidia-smi" it says
"NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running."
I have tried reinstalling the nvidia driver again, but I get the same error
The last nvidia driver I had installed (or the one that re-installs) is
Oct 18 02:03 nvidia-435.21-13-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Which as you can see, it is from 10 days ago, so I guess the driver is unrelated to the new errors.

The driver is related, your mirror is outdated, you should get linux 5.3.7.arch1-2 and nvidia 435.21-14 if you are running a system update now.

I have a similar problem related to that driver version. I'm not exactly sure that the driver stops working but when the system is rebooted, it hangs on "Started Accounts Service". Anyway, after some tests with backups, I determined that the reason is precisely this version of the driver.
Also, I'm using the global mirrors, recommended to me by another user who uses them for years:
# Worldwide
Server = http://mirrors.evowise.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
Server = http://mirror.rackspace.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch
Server = https://mirror.rackspace.com/archlinux/$repo/os/$archIf the global mirrors are outdated, which mirrors would you recommend me to use? Cuz the ones above have no kernel update in them and I'm still on 5.3.7-arch1-1.

Choose one close to your physical location and with a low delay time and a completion of 100%, (note that pacman has no intelligence in this regard. if the first mirror responds, even if it is outdated compared to other mirrors in the list, that's the one that will be used.

Funny, none of the suggested "successful" mirrors actually worked. When I tried to sync with them, they all returned errors (404, I think). The global servers (my previous post) didn't show any kernel update. In the end, in a desperate attempt I decided to enable the local mirror (Bulgaria, NETIX) and oh, wonder - after syncing the new kernel was there, so I updated and the problem was gone for me too.
Apparently the "successful" servers aren't always that successful...

That's the point, that's just a list, you have to use one that fits the criteria I described. A mirror is not immediately marked as unsuccessful just because of a bit of delay. In this particular case, your top level mirror has a 20 hour delay period and is thus at least currently technically quite unsuitable for this.
