I managed to brick my ArcLinux instalation with the update to pacman-5.2.0-2.
All packages is restored by using ArcLinux installation media.
All that seams fine but during the boot I still get the error below.

Your kernel and initramfs are mismatched. Rebuild the initramfs.

Maybe Its your "/etc/fstab"... check your partuid of disks with "blkid /dev/sdaX" compare all the mountpoints to the fstab file. if all PARTUID matches all good if not maybe run genfstab / mkinitcpio again.

@efexos the fstab is on the root filesystem which fails to mount so its contents is never used. The root fs is set by the bootloader or systemd-gpt-auto-generator.
@r00tr4t after you have setup the chroot but before chrooting into what is the output of the following
findmnt /mnt
parted -l
blkidEdit:
parted and blkid have already been posted.

loqs, all of the info you're looking for was already posted. See the link.
The warning in the output tells us what's wrong, though, so none of the rest of this matters.

I thought the link would be back to https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=250335 I should have checked.
Edit:
See post 40+ of the linked thread.

Hello loqs thank you for the last day. I marked that tree as solved because I nitial problem with downloading packages was solved and now I 'only' have to solve the boot problem.
I tested running
mkinitcpio - p lituxInside chroot environment and got following Error .

pacman -Q linux
Linux 5.3.7.arch1-2findmnt /mnt
TARGET SOURCE FSTYPE OPTIONS
/mnt /dev/sda2 ext4 rw,realtime Offline
See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p1870957
Edit:
To be clear the ESP needs to be mounted to /mnt/boot before you chroot in and reinstall the linux package.

I mount everything with this batch script that I wrote when I have started the system.
startup.sh
But I wonder if /boot2 is correct? I think I did a dodo wen I installed the system.

Check what version the kernel is /mnt/boot/
file /mnt/boot/vmlinuz-linuxunmount /mnt/boot then check again.
Edit:
What is /boot2 used for?
Edit2:
The arch-chroot script can handle mounting the pseudo filesystems and resolve.conf

Annoyingly ix.io seams to be down.
But it writes out the same info in both cases.
file /mnt/boot/wmlinuz-linux
/mnt/boot/wmlinuz-linux: Linux kernel x86 boot executeble bzimage, version 5.3.7-arch1-ARCH (linux@archlinux) #1572009234, R0-rootFS, swap_dev 0x5, Normal VGApew

What version was the initrd generated for?
lsinitcpio /mnt/boot/initramfs-linux.imgunder usr/lib/modules/ should list the kernel name.
Please be careful of the double posts.

I honestly don't understand why do I have both the sda1 UEFI disk and the sda3 'boot' disk?

Extracted from linux-5.3.7.arch1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
boot/vmlinuz-linux: Linux kernel x86 boot executable bzImage, version 5.3.7-arch1-2-ARCH (linux@archlinux) #1 SMP PREEMPT @1572002934, RO-rootFS, swap_dev 0x5, Normal VGAWhile the vmlinux your system has is from 5.3.7.arch1-1
/mnt/boot/wmlinuz-linux: Linux kernel x86 boot executeble bzimage, version 5.3.7-arch1-ARCH (linux@archlinux) #1572009234, R0-rootFS, swap_dev 0x5, Normal VGASomehow the vmlinuz-linux does not match the initrd which was built for usr/lib/modules/5.3.7-arch1-2-ARCH/ even though both the kernel and initrd are in the same directory.

Great news I guess because then we know what is the problem. How do we correct that?
Can we force pacman to reinstall the right kernel?
YEEES I got it working! Everything is back! ![]()
What I did was chrooting in to /mnt
chroot /mnt bin/bashThen according to this thread
You should install the following:
pacman -S filesystem linux This did a lot of things so i thought why not run the
mkinitcpio -p linuxcommand again after that and this time this worked with out error. ![]()
Thank you so much for the support loqs. Is there a way for me to by you a cup of coffee or something?

After you used the startup.sh script last time what commands did you perform to chroot in then install the kernel?
Please also explain about /boot2
