So i can see they are being detected but I don't know how to enable them from xrandr as they don't show up. most resources about multi gpu multi monitor appear to be very old and I was wondering if there currently exists an easier way to it.

Re: Running multiple displays from multiple graphics cards

Welcome to the arch linux forums shini.  Please post the full contents of Xorg.n.log and any xorg configuration files you have created as well as the output of dmesg.
Also how is X started on the system?

trying to see if i can twinview working from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA.

as for the X started on the system I'm not sure. I think plasma kde as the desktop environment, if that helps. and thanks for the welcome smile

EDIT: nvm twinview is for a multiple monitors on one gpu

Re: Running multiple displays from multiple graphics cards

Read the Code of Conduct and use code tags when pasting to the boards: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code

And how can you not be sure how X is started? Did you not set this system up yourself?

Re: Running multiple displays from multiple graphics cards

thanks for the code of conduct link. i set it up myself a month or two ago, but kind of left this problem too long. I found out that the display manager I used was SDDM by basically running

 sudo systemctl disable "stuff"

for all the different display managers. I'm sure there is a more elegant way to have figured it out.

Re: Running multiple displays from multiple graphics cards

systemctl list-unit-files --state=enabled

Will show services that were not enabled by default.

I would suggest removing the xorg.conf nvidia-xconfig generated restarting sddm then
posting the contents of xorg.0.log it can be found in either ~/.local/share/xorg/ or /var/log/ plus the output of the following:

lspci | grep -e VGA -e 3D
dmesg

Re: Running multiple displays from multiple graphics cards

You've two different GPUs - w/o SLI you can either run two separate X11 sceens or use xinerama (what kills xrandr support which some "modern" DEs and WMs rather blindly rely one)
