Hello,
I would like to know everything about Arch Linux (the system, commands: their function, meaning, et cetera). Where do I begin in this quest for knowledge? This is my first time using a Linux based OS.
Recently, I wanted to install all of the appropriate drivers for my Video card. I tried to search the web for the appropriate commands to list the drivers that are linked to the video card. I could not find relevant information. Which command(s) do I use to find this information within the system?
I attempted to use the information at this web address: https://jlk.fjfi.cvut.cz/arch/manpages/man/man-pages.7
However, the first command I entered rendered this result:
$ man user commands
man: can't set the locale; make sure $LC_* and $LANG are correct
No manual entry for user
No manual entry for commandsWhat does, "$LC_*" represent?
Will the system give me the information I desire once I am able to utilise the appropriate man commands?

For knowing *everything*: Read the wiki, start with the installation guide and read every link you come across.
For this specific "problem": https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/En … _variables https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Locale
In general, while its somewhat laudable to try and dive headfirst into Arch. Are you sure you want to do this? This and the other post show some very basic knowledge gaps that are usually expected to be known already to an Arch user. It's intended for proficient Linux users that already have a general grasp of how things work, It's an incredibly steep (though not insurmountable) learning curve for someone without any prior background knowledge.

How did you get Arch installed?

Thank you for the compliment. I am quite certain - I want to know the system like I know the back of my hand. I read every link that was appropriate to install Arch. I did not retain most of the information due to my lack of knowledge. I was unable to compartmentalise the knowledge in my mind because I lack an origin for the information [root directory in my mind].
Thank you for providing the links. I will begin reading them now.

I read all of the information that was appropriate for the installation on the Arch Installation Guide.

I began reading the information in the first link that you provided.
I executed
printenv and the LANGUAGE variable is blank. Will I learn the directory needed to open the LANGUAGE variable in the links provided so that I may modify it accordingly? I can not execute the following command on the article because the variable isn't set. I did install the xterm package though.
Thank you,

The first thing to learn will be about using forums and other online help channels. The best resource for this is ESR's article on asking smart questions. This is often referenced when someone has started off really on the wrong foot, and that is not an intended implication here, but it is just a great read.
That said, the title of this thread could be revised. Specifically, "asking assistance regarding ..." isn't really needed as that's what every thread is doing - use the space to be more specific about what you need assistance with.
It sounds like you want to know how to best learn about linux. If that's the case, you can search the forum for previous discussions like the following:

Both the second link and the installation guide go into how and why this variable will be set.
