Hi, I recently ran my ~bi-weekly pacman -Syu and upgraded everything. My pulseaudio stopped working after a reboot and after a little digging I found that polkitd was segfaulting during boot. I can't run most systemctl commands. Reboot and shutdown don't work as before either, I have to run them as sudo. I tried to downgrade the kernel and modules that were updated at the same time, systemd and glibc but none of it seemed to help. Journalctl says the error happens in libpthread so I was really hoping downgrading glibc would solve it all but to no avail.

I could not see a core dump being produced when polkitd segfaulted.
Is coredump production disabled on the system?

I have not disabled it manually. /etc/systemd/coredump.conf doesn't say Storage=none so unless something has been changed elsewhere, it should be the default.

If as root you execute /usr/lib/polkit-1/polkitd does that segfault and if so is a coredump produced?

fish: “sudo /usr/lib/polkit-1/polkitd” terminated by signal SIGSEGV (Address boundary error)It seems like yes. If I am to find the coredump in /var/lib/systemd/coredump like the wiki says, then no. There are only a bunch of core dumps from nordvpn and one from notify-send.

It seems like something went wrong on the 28th of October. Not sure what to do about it.
