abiword flickering

Hello,
I've installed abiword recently and it did never work correctly: when a document is opened, the page is flickering, blinking.
This behavior has been reported a lot of times by other users. Apparently, a workaround is to use a standard GTK theme like Adwaita.
I've tried to change the GTK theme for Adwaita in my XFCE Apperance. I've also tried to launch from a terminal 'env GTK_THEME=Adwaita abiword'. But it does not help.
