Lyx is unusable for me on DWM, window graphics are not being updated

I have an up-to-date Archlinux system and this is my first time trying to use Lyx.

I am executing Lyx with an empty HOME, except for whatever a run of '/usr/share/lyx/configure.py' creates (see https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/59600 ).

At first I thought the issue is that Lyx is not registering mouse clicks at all, but actually what seems to be the case is that it just does not update its display, except that every so often it does get updated and then I can see what happened in the mean time.

Lyx seems to work fine without a window manager. EDIT: actually it stopped working fine when I switched back to it (and its WM-less X) from the X with DWM.

If you use Lyx, please tell if it works or does not work for you and in what environment.
