Is it safe to remove libgcj17-bin ?

As far as I remember, I installed libgcj17-bin as dependency from AUR to install pdftk-bin from AUR.
Now I found that pdftk is in community repo, here https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/any/pdftk/

I can install pdftk very easily and pacman removed pdftk-bin but didn't libgcj17-bin.

Now, is it safe to remove libgcj17-bin package from my system?

Hello,

Go for it, those don't even seem to be in AUR anymore and that pdftk package don't mention a libgcj17 as dependency.

Carefully explaining your problem is half the solution.

It's also very unlikely to ever have been an actual dependency, and whatever AUR helper you used picked the first package claiming to provide a java-environment. You should read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Java on how to handle and properly define used Java providers (and you will in many cases not actually want to use libgcj17 but one of the more official alternatives provided by openjdk)
