Only root account works properly, further details in message

I just finished installing Arch + GNOME, and I added my own user through "useradd".

When I log in to this account in GNOME, the desktop does load, but I am not able to open "Nautilus", for example, it just freezes.

Moreover, when I try to open firefox, I get the following message. "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible"

Lastly, I noticed that my created user does not have any user folders like Downloads and Documents etc.

I think all this has to do something with permissions because I do not have any of these problems when I am logged into the root user.

Help is much appreciated.

Hello,
How did you use "useradd" ?
Have a look at the wiki page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Us … management

Carefully explaining your problem is half the solution.

Thank you! I had to add the -m flag to the useradd command.

You could also use option -k with -m : 'useradd -mk' if you have defined "skeleton". Details in 'man useradd'.
