Make udiskie detach (power off) devices by default

Hello,

I want to make udiskie detach (power off) devices by default and I can't understand its man page about its config file.

I've tried a simple config.json :

options: [detach]

but it's all outlined in red and I don't want to break anything.

How should I write it ?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Make udiskie detach (power off) devices by default

Could you please share more information on what you are trying to achieve?

If you are using the command line or calling a command line program to detach the device you could try using an alias or a script that uses power off as default.

If you are using a tray widget then it may be easier to meet your needs configuring the program itself if possible. Other programs may depend on the default behaviour of udiskie.

Re: Make udiskie detach (power off) devices by default

I'm using Thunar and when I click on the umount button it only unmounts my external hdd without powering it off e.g like windows does.
And there is an option in udiskie-umount (-d or --detach) to power off the hard drive.

I want to write a config file for udiskie so it detaches devices every time I'm unmounting them.

(I'm using i3 and I don't have a tray widget)
