What are the downsides of running GNOME in Xorg session?

I really wanted to stick to it, but GNOME on Wayland gives me the following annoyances:

• After every resume from suspend or lock screen windows are awkwardly resized

• Windows positions are not remembered

• Fractional scaling (like 125% or 150%, which I have to use on my 4k monitor to make it look right) with org.gnome.mutter experimental-features "['scale-monitor-framebuffer']" enabled breaks rendering of apps running on Xwayland (like ungoogled-chromium)

• Video HW acceleration using VAAPI is broken on apps running on Xwayland (like ungoogled-chromium with the VAAPI patch)

• Strange copy&paste problems with Strg+C or Strg-X ending up in the mouse middle-click buffer

GNOME is pretty much destined to run on Wayland nowadays, so what are the downsides of runnin GNOME in Xorg session?

Everything (except Wayland) "works as intended?"

I don't/can't successfully use Wayland on either Fedora or CentOS, nevermind in vanilla Arch. It's just not quite all there yet--but will be.
