[SOLVED] xf86-video-sisimedia update ?

Hello all,
I have this old Packard Bell laptop with Sis 671 graphic chip and it will need xf86-video-sisimedia driver.
Archlinux run fine with that laptop, but I can't install that sisimedia driver and I have to use vesa driver which is quite a pain.
Is there anyway that I could install that driver ? Problem seems to be too new xorg.
X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION<23, X-ABI-VIDEODRV_VERSION>=24, xorg-server<1.19

Unfortunately I don't know how to edit pkgbuilds or patch things. smile
But I know that it should be possible to get it working, because I tried PCLinuxOS live cd and it includes working sisimedia driver.
I just would like to use arch.

Thanks!

I would suggest leaving a comment on the xf86-video-sisimedia.
If PCLinuxOS has updated the driver for Xorg 1.20 can you locate the patches used for that?

He doesn't compile. Requires an additional patch.

I suggest you download from here.

git clone https://github.com/rasdark/xf86-video-sis671/
cd xf86-video-sis671
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-static
make
sudo make install

Most of this equipment is low-budget laptops from 2006-2007. Just like those based on VIA Chrome, mostly with 32-bit processors (pentium-m, yonah), few with Core 2 (64-bit).

Re: [SOLVED] xf86-video-sisimedia update ?

I updated xf86MapDomainMemory-pci_device_map_legacy.patch from the AUR package to use #ifdef instead of #if
