kernel 5.2.x or higher does not suspend the PC

I notice something different after several tests and is that when I use kernel 5.2.x I can not suspend the pc, when I try to resume it stays on a black screen, I cannot change to another console or open the graphic environment, just that a black screen, I did tests doing downgrade but only with kernel lts 4.x and versions before 5.2 can I suspend without problems

is this a kde/amdgpu setup by any chance?  and if yes, if you disable compositing before suspending does it then resume properly?
