CMUS: shoutcast stream stops with "Error: lost connection"

Ive been running cmus on my desktop for a while and it WAS working just  fine with the following streams:

http://c3icyelb.prod.playlists.ihrhls.com/6437_icy

recently, when I try to play these streams with cmus, they will play for a fraction of a second and then it cuts off with
"Error: lost connection"
there are other streams however that still continue to play fine in cmus:
http://sc1.paulmerrell.net:8177/stream

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling cmus a few times, but that doesnt seem to work..
all the plugins seem to be fine afaict..

then this is likely a problem with the http stream & not cmus, you could  always try using another player and if symptoms persist, then it is a problem with the host http stream.

I dont think thats the case.. I didnt mention that the 2 streams that dont work in cmus on my arch linux install work fine on a computer with fedora 30 installed .
