You are not logged in.
Since a recent update, every time I start up, cinnamon gives a notification saying there was some error during start up, and tells you to look in the system logs or the cinnamon looking glass logs.
It does not tell anything more specific than "look in the logs".
The looking glass logs, if they are supposed to be ~/.cinnamon/glass.log have a last written file date somewhere in 2018, so that's a nope.
The journalctl log is noisy as usual.
Everything of cinnamon works fine for me, but I don't want to see that annoying notification message at every boot up.
Any idea how to fix it, where in the logs to really look, or how to otherwise get rid of this notification?

I've been playing around with Cinnamon (panel/applets/themes/etc) today and discovered how flaky it is.
Can confirm the glass.log file was last touched June 2018.
Can confirm presence of the xrandr virtual size warning.
At one point today whenever I tried to login all I got was a blank screen and ~/.xsession-errors was rapidly filling with clutter actor warnings about negative size. Could login fine as a different user (using Cinnamon). Started Cinnamon in SW rendering mode and successfully logged in, although ~/.xsession-errors was still rapidly filling with the same clutter actor warnings. Tried HW rendering login again and still failed. Back in SW rendering mode I emptied the panel. This allowed me to login again normally (and then rebuild the panel).
The clutter actor warnings still seemed to be filling up the ~/.xsession-errors file. Another logout/login and it had stopped. I changed nothing in the interim.
Have you tried removing desktop applets and emptying the panel see if that helps with the warning?
Do you need all the Gnome stuff using GDM pulls in, maybe LightDM might be worth a go?

I tried removing various panel applets etc... but it doesn't fix the issue.
The displaycal errors seem the most likely culprit of this message.
However, I tried uninstalling displaycal, the error still happens, and reinstalling displaycal, and the error still happens.
I'm not actually using color management of my monitor by the way.
Cinnamon has "Color" setting, but there's nothing in it to enable/disable color management. Also nothing useful in the Display settings. All in all, the settings of cinnamon are very sparse.
Any ideas?
