yep i have that file but yeah to eliminate that possiblilty of sddm problems i will disable sddm now
so out of curiosity i should follow this post ?? https://community.chakralinux.org/t/how … -sddm/7520
or should i just disable sddm.service from tty and do startx ?? cos this is something i try everytime as i found some other people who had some luck this way . .

No you just need to disable sddm.service don't do anything else, reboot, log in, run startx. Once again you are trying to get ahead of yourself, you should just and simply verify whether you can properly startx, don't think about autologin or somesuch until you've verified that it actually works.

ok so im messaging from beyond the tty in elinks x wont start again and notable errors from the xorg.logs include

 xf86EnableIOports: failed to set IOPL for I/O (operation not permitted)

and

 (EE) modeset (GO) : glamor initialisation failed

also its telling me line 4 :exec startkde not found
and connection to xserver lost . .
i assume exec startkde is suppsed to be in the xinitrc . . so i checked xinitrc file again removed the exec startkde on line 4 and then viola x started albeit a dirty kind of broken non kde session with a X for a cursor and some empty notepads open . . it seems i cant do much there ctrl+alt T doesent produce terminal even . . ?? maybe i need to install a cli terminal program anyway i will be here experimenting and checking for replies on elinks

thanks again it seems this is progress seeing as the nvidia driver in question is loaded in lspci -k

That glamor fails is weird. However from such an ugly terminal (which was entirely expected) what's the output of

glxinfo -B #Needs mesa-demos

Or if you don't have a terminal you will want to install xterm before starting the xorg session.

haha yeah i see my message didnt disapear so i will post this output now also yes i have terminal open and also any idea of starting kde from terminal i was searching in another elinks tty but i only come up with startkde which does nothing ^^ anyway ill post now the output of that its

If you really want to start with plasma you can use https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KD … he_console but you have to ensure to place that directive directly before the twm invocation.

god elinks is so usefull/ annoying i cant see the new messages for some reason give me a moment so anyway output of glxinfo -B is :

 name of display :0

Repost the xorg log from that run, and a dmesg. glamor shouldn't fail to initialize here, something strange is going on on your system.

but now everything is giving me similar complaints about

 failed to create GL context : could not create GL context : badvalue (integer parameter out of range for operation)

and yeah the strange part of my system is most likeley me somehow messing with something i shouldnt of
at one point if this helps i deleted one /home/user/.local/.xinitrc or /home/user/.xinitrc/ but that was like an hour ago . . it was referenced in a error and it only had xrandr lines and no binbash
so i thought it could be some kind of previous mistake i made . . i still have current normal /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc file
maybe that info can help ?

ok so im back and ready for whatever is next
i mean im dreading it but i wont be offended if you say the best solution is to just do fresh install
although would be so epic if there was a better way ^^

so yeah im doing some googling seeing what i can dig up about current errors

also plasma is telling me rendering might be degraded as im currently using only software renderer
that much was probably clear already

ok so after doing fresh install and re-following arch wiki on optimus for using nvidia graphics only i have totally different errors which is quite annoying yet promising i imagine now i get the full boot option but glx gears works ( and incredibly better framerate so im certain its all working )
so ill put this down as solved seeing as the error mustve been some kind of misconfiguration on my end so i still have to switch to tty to startx after arriving at a black screen but seeing as drivers are working properly this issue is solved
