Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a) stopped working

Hi,

For the past few months I have had intermittent kernel panics with this wifi adapter (which worked fine 2 two years). Situation improved with some updates (the wifi would be up for 5-10 min before kernel panics). Latest updates seem to have completely killed it.

From dmesg, that's the only thing I can see:

57701:[ 105.528953] Intel(R) Wireless WiFi driver for Linux
57756-[  105.528955] Copyright(c) 2003- 2015 Intel Corporation
57813-[  105.529395] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0002)
57881-[  105.529633] iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: HW_REV=0xFFFFFFFF, PCI issues?
57949-[ 105.554642] iwlwifi: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5

A few more info:

# uname -a
Linux kiba-reborn 5.4.2-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu, 05 Dec 2019 12:29:40 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
# lspci  | grep -i wireless
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a)

I'd appreciate help and suggestions about things I could try to get the wifi adapter to work!

Cheers,
Donato
