Hello everyone, I am a noob to arch, just installed it like yesterday for the first time. Got most things working and using base kde as the desktop environment. I am trying to setup plex server on my machine. Installed the basic plex server from here. However, I think I am not able to start the plex service as the
systemctl | grep runningdoes not show it even after enabling and starting it. I probably might not have configured my network during install probably so can anyone help? Also the NetworkManager service is enabled and working if that's related.

Please show the output of
journalctl -b
systemctl status plexmediaserverOffline
Systemd has very extensive possibilities to find out the reasons why a service might fail, grepping for whether the service appears in some huge list is the last I'd use for that: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … sing_units

Okay, so I found the problem, it has something to do with not having set proper locale. Now it is working. However, I had to add this line to my .zshrc
export LANG=en_IN.UTF-8because for some reason, even uncommenting the locale from /etc/locale.gen and adding the
LANG=en_IN.UTF-8to /etc/locale.conf don't seem to set it for the whole system. Any other thing I can do to set the system locale? also tried the
localectl set-locale LANG=en_IN.UTF-8as given in wiki but doesn't seem to work.

What is the output of the following
localectl
locate -a
cat /etc/locale.confOffline
What is the output of the following
localectl locate -a cat /etc/locale.conf
For first:
System Locale: LANG=en_IN.UTF-8
VC Keymap: n/a
X11 Layout: n/aSecond: And I think u mistyped locale there.
C
en_IN
en_IN.utf8
POSIXThis is after using that line in zshrc.
Third:
LANG=en_IN.UTF-8Offline
Okay, so finally got everything working. Here is the basic stuff I did to fix it.
1. Set proper locale from here. (would make a lot of applications misbehave like plex and zsh temes.)
2. Check if ur desktop environment has a different locale set coz it was overriding my locale.conf which was the reason I had to set it in .zshrc in the beginning.

What made you think that this was a locale problem?
