BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS | iwlwifi (Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560)

I'm trying to install Arch Linux

When I got to configuring network while I was booted into Arch Linux installer usb stick but when I ran "ip link set wlan0 up" I just got output saying "BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS"
I tried to continue but connecting to network didn't work at all.

Can someone explain what is wrong with this or explain what does WGDS and WRDS mean?

It might be wlo1, rather than wlan0.
Mine is a Wireless AC-9462 and does that.

The command and its output was as follows?

ip link set wlan0 up
BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS

What were the commands you used after that and their outputs?

Re: BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS | iwlwifi (Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560)

If you followed the guide and the commands produced the expected outputs then the Wireless NIC would be associated with an AP and would then need to obtain an IP address.
If that did not happen please document which command failed with its output.
Edit:
Can you also post the output of dmesg it the NIC is not associated.

Re: BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS | iwlwifi (Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560)

Hi!

I also encountered a similar problem for LENOVO 81R2/LNVNB161216, BIOS ASCN39WW 09/04/2019, Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 9462.

After upgrading to Linux 5.4.3 (2019-12-18), the wifi does not work and it works fine if I scroll back to 2019-12-02.

Here is the output of dmesg related to the problem:

And the output of journalctl contains

kernel: iwlwifi 0000:00:14.3: BIOS contains WGDS but no WRDS

I'm not sure whether it is a bug of the new kernel or firmware.
