Anbox doesnt start

Hello guys,

as the title says, it just doesnt run, trying to run it from the icon i get the app loading screen "starting.." and it just stops there, freezes, nothing happens.
running "anbox session-manager" gives no output at all, nothing(not sure if it should) and trying to run it from the app icon after that commands does nothing as well , not even that frozen loading screen

im on the latest update :

[splus@arch ~]$ uname -r
5.4.6-arch3-1

output of anbox_log_level=debug(if it means anything, sorry im bad at logs..)

[splus@arch ~]$ ANBOX_LOG_LEVEL=debug anbox session-manager
[ 2019-12-29 18:40:18] [Renderer.cpp:168@initialize] Using a surfaceless EGL context
[ 2019-12-29 18:40:18] [Renderer.cpp:251@initialize] Successfully initialized EGL
[ 2019-12-29 18:40:18] [service.cpp:41@Service] Successfully acquired DBus service name

Moduls are fine i think, no errors when doing modprobe for ashmem/binder

what i did before trying to run it :

[splus@arch ~]$ sudo systemctl start systemd-resolved.service
[splus@arch ~]$ sudo systemctl start systemd-networkd.service
[splus@arch ~]$ sudo systemctl start anbox-container-manager.service
[splus@arch ~]$ systemctl --user start anbox-session-manager.service
[splus@arch ~]$ sudo modprobe ashmem_linux
[splus@arch ~]$ sudo modprobe binder_linux
[splus@arch ~]$

what i tried and didnt work as well

[splus@arch ~]$ anbox session-manager --gles-driver=host

Re: Anbox doesnt start

Can you manually open the application manager?
https://github.com/anbox/anbox/issues/6 … -375022493

anbox launch --package=org.anbox.appmgr --component=org.anbox.appmgr.AppViewActivity

Re: Anbox doesnt start

It took  me a bit of experimenting to get Anbox to run consistently. Aside from making sure that anbox-container-manager.service is enabled and started and that anbox-bridge is running, I found it necessary to add this to anbox-session-manager.service:

[Unit]
Description=Anbox Session Manager
StartLimitIntervalSec=3
StartLimitBurst=1

[Service]
ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/printenv DISPLAY
ExecStart=/usr/bin/anbox session-manager --gles-driver=translator
Restart=always
RestartSec=3s

[Install]
WantedBy=default.target

With that, Anbox runs fine for me.
