canonical core in my snap list

Hey guys,

I went to uninstall a snap and ran snap list and this came up!
Why is is even there and can I safely remove it?

canonical created snaps. core, is the core runtime of snapd, Its an important part of what makes snaps work, you might even call it... a core part.
