[SOLVED] mkinitcpio save included files with each kernel update?

I've included a keyfile in mkinitpcio, which opens encrypted partitions, but, apparently, they're getting wiped out after a kernel update. Can I change that?

Yes you could stop the initrd from being updated but then you would have an initrd that would not match the kernel image or the installed modules.
You could stop the initrd and the kernel image from being updated but the installed modules would still not match.
How are you adding the keyfile to the initrd such that the newly generated initrd does not contain the keyfile?
